A process with me can include a combination of the options listed below. For one consultation, an online meeting might be suitable, while for another, a Walk & Talk might be perfect.
Contact me, and let’s work together to find out what best fits your needs and situation.
A process with me varies from person to person and family to family, depending on the issue, family situation, and individual preferences. Some of us thrive in one setting, while others do better in another, and I aim to accommodate that.
For me, it is very important that you and your family feel safe and comfortable in our interactions.

We will arrange a time to meet in a park in the Copenhagen area.
Walk & Talks are not a typically offered from nurses, psychologists, therapists, counselors, or similar professionals, but I provide this option because it has proven to be very effective for both the conversation itself and for the client.
Being outdoors in the sunlight and nature has a calming effect on us. It helps with our sleep, mood, concentration, energy levels, and so much more.
Physical activity - even just a slow walk - also benefits us greatly. Being active, such as walking instead of sitting, supports both our physical and mental wellbeing.
Additionally, if you feel a little nervous about the conversation or if you haven't been in a similar situation before, it is much easier to talk while walking. This can alleviate the pressure of sitting in an office and facing someone directly.
Overall, there are many benefits to Walk & Talks sessions.

Family consultations can be a combination of all three options mentioned above. For example, the first meeting could be an online session with the parents. The second consultation might be a Walk & Talk with your child or adolescent. I have great experience with Walk & Talks with teenagers. It is often easier for them to engage in the conversation while walking rather than being in an unfamiliar office. They tend to open up more and feel less "trapped" compared to sitting in an office. Often, it is the parents who believe that it would be beneficial for their teen to speak with a professional. Therefore, accommodating the young person in a way that makes them feel more comfortable can lead to the best outcomes.
The third consultation could involve both the parents and the child in my office. However, this entirely depends on the situation and the specific needs.
I also offer home visits where that can be the best solution.
